Is the gold in a note real?

Yes — each note contains a stated weight of genuine 24k gold, sealed within the note for protection.

Are gold notes VAT-free like bars and coins?

Gold notes generally fall outside HMRC's investment gold definition, so VAT may apply. Any VAT due is already reflected in the price shown.

What's the difference between a gold note and a Goldback?

Both are small-denomination gold foil products. Goldbacks are a specific branded series designed to be spendable as a voluntary local currency in participating US states; our Aurum gold notes are a broader range of collectible designs without that spendability feature.
