Product Description
Winnie the Pooh first appeared on December 24, 1925, in a story published in Londons Evening News by author A.A. Milne. The character was inspired by a stuffed bear owned by Milnes son, Christopher Robin. That bear was named after Winnipeg, a Canadian black bear from the London Zoo, along with Pooh, the name of a swan the family once knew. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of this beloved character, the New Zealand Mint released a special set of commemorative coins.Â
