Design a coin that tells your story
Upload your own image, add initials or a message, and arrange text and symbols in our online Design Studio. Curve lettering around the coin, choose a typeface and preview both sides before you order.
Keep it simple with a monogram and date, pair a portrait with a personal message, or create a commemorative design for a special occasion. Your design is engraved into silver; the editor’s monochrome preview helps you plan the layout.
From your idea to your coin
- Choose your engraving. Design one side or both. Add anything to the back and it becomes two-sided; the price updates as you go.
- Make it personal. Upload artwork or add text in the Design Studio, then adjust the layout. Sign in to save designs to your account.
- Review and order. Check spelling, positioning and every engraved side. Tick the confirmation, then Add to basket, to attach your design to the order.
We check artwork suitability before engraving and email you a proof. You can approve it or ask for changes, and nothing is engraved until you approve.

Questions about your custom silver coin
Can I upload a photo or my own artwork?
Yes. Upload a PNG or JPEG image in the Design Studio, then position it and review the monochrome preview. Use a clear image with good contrast; small or very fine details may need adjustment for engraving.
Can I engrave both sides?
Yes. Choose two-sided engraving for artwork on the front and back. The studio selects two sides when both sides contain artwork and displays the current price before you add the design to your basket.
Will the finished coin weigh one troy ounce?
The starting .999 fine silver blank weighs 1 troy oz. Engraving removes material. Deep-relief pieces finish below 1 troy oz, with the amount removed depending on the artwork and depth.
Can I save my design and finish it later?
Yes. Sign in with your Yard Mint account and save your design in the studio. You can reopen it and continue editing before ordering.
Does the preview show the exact engraved finish?
The preview shows your layout and helps you check your artwork. It is an illustration, not a photograph of the finished engraving; the appearance on silver will differ from the screen.
When will my personalised coin be dispatched?
