1 Route 66 Goldback - 100th Anniversary EditionAurum Gold Foil Note (24k)

A one-off Goldback made for a one-off occasion. Route 66 opened in 1926, and for its centenary Goldback produced a single commemorative 1 note in partnership with APMEX — an APMEXclusive® release, not part of any state series. It holds 1/1000 of a troy ounce of 24-carat gold, the same as every other 1 Goldback, but the design is unlike anything else in the range.

Where a state Goldback carries one virtue and one scene, this note is a collage. Vintage cars, the Route 66 shield, old bridges, roadside motels, filling stations and diners are packed in together, with a prominent 100th Anniversary emblem marking the 1926–2026 milestone and a decorative border in a period style. It is deliberately busy — a road trip on a single note rather than a single stop along it.

Anyone collecting Goldbacks who wants the commemoratives alongside the state series, and anyone with a soft spot for the Mother Road or mid-century Americana. Because it is a single-issue note rather than the first year of a long-running series, it also works well as a stand-alone gift with a story attached.

Pair it with the matching Route 66 Silverback for a gold-and-silver centenary set, or give one to someone who has driven the route themselves.

The price includes artwork and manufacture as well as gold. Condition and collector demand can affect resale.
