About this range
Buying coins from The Yard Mint
Our coin range covers sovereign bullion — Britannias, Sovereigns, Krugerrands, Eagles and Pandas — alongside limited-mintage collectible and graded proof releases, in both gold and silver.
Sovereign coins are legal tender struck at official mints including The Royal Mint, Royal Canadian Mint, Perth Mint and the US Mint. That official status makes them easy to authenticate, easy to value, and easy to sell on when the time comes.
If you want gold, start with gold coins. If you're building a silver holding, silver coins offer the same recognisable formats at a lower entry price.
Coins — common questions
What's the difference between bullion and collectible coins?
Bullion coins are priced mainly on their metal content and a modest premium — Britannias and Sovereigns are typical examples. Collectible coins carry an additional premium for rarity, mintage, condition or grading, and their value can move independently of the metal price.
Are UK coins like Britannias and Sovereigns VAT-free?
Gold Britannias and Sovereigns meet HMRC's definition of investment gold and are VAT-exempt. Silver coins, and any coin outside that definition, are not — VAT is already included in the price shown where it applies.
How quickly do you dispatch?
All in-stock orders are dispatched within 24 hours of cleared payment, fully insured, via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx or DHL. You'll receive tracking updates throughout.
Do you buy coins back?
Yes — we operate a buyback programme on most items we sell. Get in touch for a current quote.
Can I store my coins in your vault?
Yes. Our vaulting service holds gold and silver coins securely off-site, fully insured and under bailment — your metal and your title throughout, held separately from our own balance sheet. You can withdraw for physical delivery or sell back at any time.
