Our Products
What are Goldbacks?
Goldbacks are a form of voluntary local currency made from real, 24-karat gold. Each note contains a precise quantity of gold layered between durable polyester film, making them both functional as a medium of exchange and highly collectible. We stock a range of denominations across multiple state series.
What gold coins and bars do you carry?
We stock a curated selection of bullion and collectible coins from trusted mints, including The Royal Mint and PAMP Suisse. Our range includes gold Britannias, Sovereigns, and a variety of international bullion coins. Browse our collections for current availability and live pricing.
Do you sell silver?
Yes. We carry silver coins and bars alongside our gold range. Please note that silver bullion is subject to VAT in the UK.
What is coin grading?
Coin grading describes the condition of a coin. We use the British grading system, which includes grades such as Fleur de Coin (FDC), Uncirculated (UNC), and Extremely Fine (EF). See our Coin Grading Guide for a full breakdown and comparison to the Sheldon Scale.
Pricing
How are your prices set?
Precious metals are priced against the live spot market. Our prices reflect current market rates at the time of listing and are updated regularly. We also offer a price-match guarantee — if you find a lower price for the same product from a reputable UK dealer, contact us and we will do our best to match it.
Do prices include VAT?
Investment gold meeting HMRC criteria is VAT-exempt and priced accordingly. Non-investment products, including Goldbacks and silver, are priced inclusive of VAT where applicable. VAT treatment is clearly indicated on each product page.
Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order?
Browse our collections, add items to your basket, and proceed to checkout. For high-value orders or bespoke requirements, you are welcome to contact us directly by phone or email.
Is my purchase secure?
Yes. All transactions are processed through our secure checkout. For qualifying purchases, we are required by law to carry out identity verification in line with our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) obligations. We may request KYC documentation before completing your order.
Can I cancel my order?
Bullion orders where the price has been locked cannot be cancelled, as the spot price may move between order and fulfilment. Please refer to our Cancellation Policy for full details.
Shipping & Delivery
How do you ship precious metals?
All orders are dispatched discreetly and securely. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, and DHL depending on order value and destination. Fully insured shipping is included on qualifying orders.
How quickly will my order arrive?
We aim to dispatch all in-stock orders within 24 hours of cleared payment. Delivery timescales depend on your chosen shipping method and location.
Do you ship internationally?
We primarily serve customers in the United Kingdom. We also offer access to select US-sourced products. For international enquiries, please contact us directly.
Vaulting & Storage
Do you offer secure storage?
Yes. We offer professional vaulting services for customers who prefer not to store metals at home. Vaulted assets are fully backed, stored under a bailment agreement, and kept entirely in reserve.
What are the fees for vaulting?
Please refer to our Terms, Rates & Fees page for current vaulting rates. Goldback exchange and deposit services are available at a flat 10% fee.
Selling to Us
Can I sell my gold or silver to The Yard Mint?

Returns & Compliance
What is your returns policy?
Due to the nature of precious metals and spot-price fluctuations, all sales are final. We do not accept change-of-mind returns. If an item arrives damaged or is materially not as described, please contact us within 14 days of receipt. Our buyback programme is available as an alternative exit route for most products.
How do you handle AML and compliance?
The Yard Mint Limited complies fully with UK Anti-Money Laundering regulations. We conduct sanctions screening and may request identity documentation (KYC) for qualifying transactions.
