Collection: Bullion

Gold and silver bars and sovereign coins bought for metal content rather than design — the lowest premiums over spot, with buyback and vaulting available.

About this range

Buying bullion from The Yard Mint

Bullion is metal bought for its weight and purity rather than its design — gold and silver bars and sovereign coins priced close to the spot price, with only a modest premium on top.

It's the most cost-efficient way to build a holding in either metal. Bars from PAMP Suisse and Geiger carry the lowest premiums; sovereign coins such as Britannias, Sovereigns and Eagles cost a little more but are easier to sell in smaller amounts.

Every item ships fully insured within 24 hours, and we operate a buyback programme so you have a straightforward way to sell back when you choose to. Prefer not to store it yourself? Vaulted storage is available under bailment in your name.

Bullion — common questions

What counts as bullion?

Bars and coins priced primarily on metal content, close to the spot price, rather than on rarity or design. Bars generally carry the lowest premium; sovereign coins a little more, in exchange for easier resale in smaller units.

Is bullion VAT-free?

Investment gold that meets HMRC's criteria is VAT-exempt. Silver bullion is not — VAT is charged at the standard rate and already included in the price shown.

How quickly do you dispatch?

All in-stock orders are dispatched within 24 hours of cleared payment, fully insured, via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx or DHL. You'll receive tracking updates throughout.

Do you buy bullion back?

Yes — we operate a buyback programme on most items we sell. Get in touch for a current quote.

Can I vault my bullion instead of taking delivery?

Yes. Our vaulting service holds gold and silver bullion securely off-site, fully insured and under bailment — your metal and your title throughout, held separately from our own balance sheet. You can withdraw for physical delivery or sell back at any time.
